Chiropractor Waukesha WI Thomas Smith

Chiropractor

Thomas Smith D.C.

I grew up in Baraboo WI, in the south central part of the state. Back in the day we hardly ever went to the Doctor unless it was very serious or life threatening condition. I started with chiropractic care at the age of 17 as a result of a sports injury. It was the best decision I made as it turned out to be life changing as well as career changing. Since that injury I became a chiropractor so I could help as many people as I could possibly help.

I am a single dad of 2 great kids, both of whom got their first adjustment in the delivery room, because our first injury is going through the birthing process. They both continue with care as their schedules are full with school and many activities in their daily lives. Both of my parents got chiropractic care as did my 3 sisters. My mother is 88, walks 3 miles per day and sees her Chiropractor every 2 weeks to maintain her active lifestyle.

The Chiropractic philosophy is that the human body has everything it needs to stay healthy; it cannot have any interference in that process. The brain and nervous system control the complete function of every organ, cell and tissue in the body and are intimately related with the spinal column. Therefore structure of the human frame has a direct effect on function of the human body and all of its parts. I educate my patient’s with this philosophy because it is very important to be informed about how your body works, the more informed you are, the more informed decisions you can make to take care of yourself and your family.

Chiropractic care is a lifestyle; it allows the human body to function at its best all of the time because of what we do every day in our lives. The average person does a million movements a day that is a lot of wear and tear on the body which causes decreased motion in the spinal segments and tissues in the body. Getting adjusted regularly, every week or every other week will offset that wear and tear. Research has demonstrated that chiropractic adjustments restore the proper spinal movement allowing the body to heal itself and move properly. This is why I became a Doctor of Chiropractic, to help educate my patients and lead them to the healthiest lifestyle they can possibly achieve and maintain.

Here at Acu-Med we have an Integrated approach that we offer our patients, Acupuncture, Massage therapy and Chiropractic care. As a patient you get the best care possible to help you start and or maintain a healthy lifestyle!
